For Christian schools and homeschools

At a Christian school or at home, the road is much the same: daily practice, year-end tests, and in high school the tests for college, including the CLT, which more than 100 Christian colleges accept. Here is everything on Owl in that order, with the free tools for each age first.

The CLT, a test many Christian colleges know

The Classic Learning Test draws its reading from the great books. Over 350 colleges accept it, more than 100 of them Christian colleges, and some tie scholarships to it. Owl has free CLT practice for every skill, lessons, a study plan and full practice tests.

Questions people ask

Which Christian colleges accept the CLT?

More than 100 Christian colleges are on the CLT's own list of colleges that accept it (our count, matching that list to federal college records in October 2026). Our CLT colleges page lists every college on it, and Christian School Compass, our sister site, describes each Christian college's chapel and faith life.

Does Owl teach from a Christian worldview?

Owl is test practice: reading, grammar, math, vocabulary and Latin. It does not teach doctrine, and it sits beside what your church, school and family teach. The reading library uses classic texts.

We homeschool. Is this page for us too?

Yes. Everything works at home, and the grade checkups are made for homeschool year-end testing. See also the homeschool families page.

Which of these are free?

Spelling, Math Facts, Owl Thinkers, the Daily Grammar Fix, Vocabulary, the Reading library, Latin practice and the grade checkups are free to use, with no account needed to start. Each test also has free practice; the full study plans and extra practice tests are in the paid plans.

Is Owl connected with any test maker?
