How Owl Test Prep works
Short, game-like practice for the CLT and the Digital SAT, with Owl-y the owl keeping you company. Here is what a week of practice looks like.
The CLT, the Digital SAT and the PSAT/NMSQT; the HSPT, ISEE and SSAT for high school entrance; Junior (grades 7 to 10); and free spelling, vocabulary and reading practice. One account and one streak cover all of them.
- A daily set takes about four minutes. Sets start easier and adapt: two right in a row and the next question is harder; a miss and the next one is easier.
- Every answer comes with a full explanation, including why each wrong choice is wrong. "Another like this" gives you a fresh question on the same skill.
- Each skill has a short lesson with a worked example and the usual traps. A miss offers the lesson right there.
- Streaks, XP, gems and a path through painted lands keep it moving, and you can turn sounds, Owl-y's voice and reminders off in Settings.
CLT: 6 full timed tests. SAT: 6 full tests, with the second module in each section chosen by how the first one went, as on the real test. You get an estimated score, the time you spent on each question and the skills to work on next. Practice scores are estimates, not official scores.
Set a test date and the study plan spreads the skills you most need across the days you have left. Missed questions come back later, so they stick.
With any plan, a parent sees minutes practiced, accuracy by skill and the score trend on the family dashboard, and gets a weekly email report. Read the parent guide.
Practicing is free: every question with a full explanation, every lesson, and the first two full CLT and SAT practice tests. College Test Prep ($79 a year, paid once, or $39 for 30 days) adds every full CLT, SAT and PSAT practice test, the National Merit plan, the study plan to test day, more Ask Owl-y help and a progress email to a parent every Sunday. High School Entrance Prep ($59 a year) does the same for the HSPT, ISEE, SSAT and SHSAT, and Owl Family ($129 a year) covers up to 6 children on every test. Everything that is free stays free.
