What Owl Test Prep is

Owl Test Prep is run by Thin Air Studios LLC. It is independent practice for the Classic Learning Test (CLT), the SAT and PSAT/NMSQT, and the HSPT, ISEE and SSAT high school entrance exams, with practice for grades 7 to 10 and free learning tools for younger students. CLT and Classic Learning Test are registered trademarks of Classic Learning Initiatives, LLC. SAT and PSAT/NMSQT are registered trademarks of the College Board. HSPT is a registered trademark of Scholastic Testing Service, Inc. ISEE is a registered trademark of the Educational Records Bureau. SSAT is a registered trademark of The Enrollment Management Association. None of them is affiliated with or endorses this site.

Every question on the site is original. The reading passages are public-domain texts, published 1930 or earlier or in old public-domain translations.

Practice scores are estimates from practice questions, which run a little harder than the real test on purpose. They are not official CLT or SAT scores and do not promise any result on test day.

Your account

Use your own email address and keep your sign-in links to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. A student under 13 needs a parent or guardian to create the account (see the privacy policy).

Plans

High School Entrance Prep covers one student for the HSPT, ISEE, SSAT and SHSAT. College Test Prep covers one student for the CLT, SAT and PSAT (with the National Merit plan). Each is a single payment, not a subscription, and lasts 365 days from purchase; the College Test Prep Sprint lasts 30 days. Buying the same plan again while it is running adds its time. A student who holds both plans has everything in both.

Owl Family covers the buyer and up to six children, each with their own account, on every test and feature of the site. It is a yearly subscription: it renews each year at the price shown when you bought it, and we email you before it renews. You can turn renewal off any time from your account (Your account, then Turn off renewal); the plan then runs to the end of the year you paid for.

What each plan includes is listed on the Plans page. Practice questions stay free for everyone.

Refunds are covered by the refund policy.

Using the site fairly

Please do not copy the questions, explanations or lessons in bulk, resell access, share a plan beyond the people it covers, try to get around the free limits or the sign-in, or use Ask Owl-y for anything other than studying. We may limit or close an account that does.

Ask Owl-y

Ask Owl-y's answers and essay feedback are written by an AI model. They are usually right, but they can be wrong. The written explanations and the answer keys, which are checked, come first; if Owl-y ever disagrees with them, trust the explanation, and tell us with "Report a problem".

Our content

The questions, explanations, lessons, design and software belong to Owl Test Prep. You may print or save them for your own study, or for teaching your own students. The public-domain passages are free for anyone to use.

No guarantees

We work hard to keep the site accurate and available, but it is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, Owl Test Prep is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and its total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the past twelve months.

Changes and law

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use the site means you accept it. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA.
