Tricks for the 3s
- Add 3 each time: 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, 27, 30.
- The digits of every answer up to 3 × 12 add up to 3, 6 or 9 (3 × 7 = 21: 2 + 1 = 3).
Turn it around
3 × 7 is the same as 7 × 3. If you already know a fact from another table, you know it here too. Of the twelve 3s facts, the ones up to 3 × 2 also live in the smaller tables, so the 3s add only 10 new facts once you know the tables before them.
